Cartwright & Butler was created in 1981, selling homemade jams and preserves out of a rented room in a small coastal town in Yorkshire. As the brand grew, Cartwright & Butler enlisted Briggs & Co. to design a brand identity that would accommodate their expanding range. The final design sought to convey the brand’s heritage and quality through refined typography and beautiful illustration, with a finesse that makes the product approachable. The brand is now sold in fine department stores such as Harrods, Selfridges, and Harvey Nichols.
