Branding Woodville Ecological Cabins

Branding Woodville Ecological Cabins

If access to dwelling is a right, that right does not mean owning a conventional home. You can explore and bet on other alternatives.

Conceived, designed, manufactured, and distributed from its headquarters in Navarre, Woodville manufactures ecological cabin accommodations, baptized as mohma (acronym for wooden mobil home). They are characterized by being modular, sustainable, generating a minimum impact on the environment, made of wood and with reusable materials. They can be 100% self-sufficient and are easily transported and assembled. In addition, they have all the criteria to be passive houses.

Patxi Mangado and Fernando Oiza, highly regarded architects, are behind the product design, and bov design is the Pamplona-based design studio that has developed the brand strategy to create a close identity driven by the mantra:

“Well living homes”.
Woodville arises as a response to this demand for healthy homes in nature.

“We understand the world in which we live as: a confused one full of haste, without calm, with excess baggage, where maintaining order and calm is difficult. We take all that away and value clarity, simplicity and enjoying everyday moments in contact with nature above all else”.

The corporate identity is based on the biophilic qualities of the product and takes the letters of the naming W + V as a base. From this union, an imago type is created with a top part without right angles that represents the dome-shaped top of its mohma modules.

The symmetries and its technical aspect exemplify the quality and design in the construction of its products. A set of personalized icons and illustrations have been developed that prove the close character and values of the brand in a clear, entertaining, and illustrative way.

During the development of the visual identity, this shape becomes more representative and accompanies the brand at all times, thus highlighting one of the most exceptional details of the mohma. To give it that pleasant character, a series of everyday scenes that take place inside a mohma have been developed. All these subtle resources have been orchestrated under the humanistic lines of Open Sans that have a vertical tension, open shapes and a neutral but friendly appearance.

To maintain coherence with the brand values, several points are taken into account before any material is generated. Work with ecological, sustainable, or recycled papers. Print as close as possible to the company to consider the ecological footprint of the printed product. Do not use laminates or finishes such as metallic stamping, which are very difficult to recycle. Print only what is strictly necessary.

For the catalogue, FSC-certified papers such as 100% recycled Keycolor Kamel have been used.
A sewn binding seen with a welcome greeting, thus reflecting the refined yet accessible character of the brand.

In the color palette, brown stands out, which is used as a natural element to bring the user closer to wood and nature, combining more striking tones to create subtle tensions within the brand’s universe.

The company currently operates in Spain, France, and Portugal, due to its proximity, but it has a clear international vision such as UK, Switzerland, Norway, Canada, and the USA markets; countries with a long history of implementing this type of accommodation.
