Better when it’s Bonkers

With people spending more time at home with their pets than ever before, pet parents are looking for new ways to bond and spend quality time with their furry friends. Awareness and concern for our pets’ wellness is an additional trend on the rise, and healthier treat options are increasingly a consideration.

Enter Bonkers: A super fun, super bold and super pink brand that’s also ‘better for them’. Developed by animal nutritionists to be low calorie, wheat and soy free and with no artificial flavors or colors, Bonkers is not your typical pet treat brand​​—every aspect of our identity celebrates the uniquely weird and wonderful quirks of the pets we love and the pure joy they bring to our lives by being their most bonkers self.

We photographed and retouched a full cast of cats and dogs, each expressing their unique personalities and bonkers moments as they leap, flip and handstand across our packaging. The eye-catching pets, fun flavor names (Paw Lickin’ Chicken, Bacon Bitties, Seafood & Eat It!), tongue-in-cheek copy and vivid treat illustrations all orbit around our bold and playful logo that virtually jumps off the pack. Our brand color was chosen for distinctiveness and to cut through the ‘sea-of-same’ on the pet shelf. Also, what’s more fun than pink?

The response to Bonkers has been overwhelming—by our six month birthday, we will have launched into over 12,000 stores globally (and still growing!) and received over 10,000 5-star reviews. The infectious fun and non-stop LOLs of Bonkershas been a hit for both pets and pet parents alike.
