Brandberry Strategy & Design: Crafting Premium Packaging for Peritas Pet Food

Peritas is a pet food brand based in Istanbul, Turkey. The name “Peritas,” derived from Latin, means “skilled and expert,” reflecting the brand’s commitment to quality. Peritas Signature represents the super-premium product line within the brand. After deciding to launch this line, the brand collaborated with Brandberry Strategy&Design for visual brand identity. The brief was clear: a logo and packaging design that would reflect the high-quality nature of the product, fitting its super-premium positioning.

The pet food market in Turkey is well-established, with major brands such as Purina and Hill’s dominating the super-premium category. As a newcomer to the market, Peritas Signature needs a design that would not only convey its premium identity but also stand out on shelves and attract attention.

The Peritas Signature logo effectively embodies these principles through its color palette, graphic elements, and typography. A dark background combined with a silver frame and the “Signature” text conveys a premium and expert image. The off-white color used in the letters symbolizes health, while the turquoise wave on the letter “E” serves as an iconic feature, symbolizing a cat or dog’s tail while integrating seamlessly with the overall packaging design. The silver shield ensures adaptability across various backgrounds, reinforcing the brand’s professional and expert image.
For the design, a black background was chosen to emphasize the product’s luxurious and sophisticated nature. Specially selected animal photographs, in a consistent style, were incorporated to add authenticity and connect the brand with natural, high-quality ingredients. Key product information, such as pet breed type, food content, and nutritional benefits, was presented with a clear hierarchy, ensuring readability and clarity across all product variants.

In creating the packaging, every inch was thoughtfully considered to ensure it captured the consumer’s attention while communicating the right message. The distinctive barcode designs featuring cat and dog icons added a unique touch, further reinforcing the brand’s identity. The overall design not only highlights the premium nature of the product but also strengthens consumer trust by presenting information in a functional and accessible way.

The use of informative language in the design helped build trust and provided consumers with the necessary information to make conscious decisions. Peritas Signature’s packaging successfully combines elegance with clarity, reinforcing the product’s super premium image while making it highly approachable for the consumer.

Ultimately, the result is a packaging design that positions Peritas Signature as a strong competitor in the super premium segment. It offers both sophistication and functionality, effectively communicating the brand’s commitment to quality while creating an engaging visual presence on the shelf.
