Dourbie is a wine estate located in Languedoc, France. It takes its name from the small river that runs through the vineyard.
The idea behind this rebranding was to continue the previous work done by the family, while changing direction and heading towards the idea of the new wine culture. A wine that is loved and shared with friends and family. Our approach moves away from the traditional « château » wine culture in favour of a more creative approach, and also aims to highlight the specificity of the place, the quality of the product and the interest of the appellations.
To reflect this, we designed a cleaner, simpler logo. The period at the end signifies the end of a sentence. But also an affirmation, a statement. Something strong.
The labels were also revamped and the Intemporal and Mala Coste cuvées, coming from vines that grow in the valley of Rouveyrolles, are at the heart of Dourbie’s new identity.
We wished to illustrate the link between modernity and tradition by referring to the past in a contemporary visual way. This translates into a “trace”.
The trace of Intemporal reflects the earth, the reflection of the sky, the sun on the plains, and the memories of family members.
The trace of Mala Coste goes downhill and reflects the challenging Mala Coste coast where are planted the vines that produce the grape varieties for this wine.
The Dourbie website was also redesigned to fit this new, modern branding.
In a Nutshell: This new brand identity is a break with the traditional visual codes. An innovative, unexpected style that reflects the originality of the estate. No longer confused with others, but asserting itself. It is a statement of affirmation and consistency.
