This recently completed project, involves the creation of a brand identity and the design of various applications for ‘The Seven Toolkit’ (T7T), a state of the art, one stop shop solution in sustainability performance and risk assessment for organisations, suppliers and subsidiaries, of any size, sector and industry. ‘The Seven Toolkit’ addresses 7 core subjects through over 330 evaluation parameters. These are: Organisational Governance, Human Rights (including gender equality, discrimination, harassment), Labour Practices, The Environment (including climate change mitigation and adaptation), Fair Operating Practices (including anti-corruption, anti-bribery), Consumer Issues, and Community Involvement and Development (including social development).
‘The 7 Toolkit’ logotype, consists of a symbol which is a graphic representation of the number ‘7’. The symbol is made up of seven independent elements or lines, each representing a specific subject in which organisations can be evaluated through the ‘The Seven Toolkit’ software. The visual identity was inspired by the constant change and ongoing evolution of today’s organisations and their need for adaptation to the dynamic environment in which they operate. The seven independent elements come together to form a number seven (7), communicating through the composition, collaboration and unity. The elements appear to be constantly moving, reflecting flexibility, evolution and progress. Besides the logotype design, the brand identity extends to many other applications and deliverables, such a letterhead, business cards, envelopes, notebooks, folders, signage, merchandising, brochures, gifts, company vehicles and stuff attire. The primary colour palette consists of blue and green, colours associated with sustainable practice and environmental responsibility. The two colours sometimes appear as solid backgrounds, while in some cases and on more casual applications, they blend in playful gradients that follow the curves and directions of the symbol.
