Be happy, be joyous, be Jolly! In an age where the world seems to be so fast moving and at times dark and difficult, everyone needs some off-time to slow down, breathe and feel good – hence the Millennial’s love for products and foods that help them do just that. They’re called “the most nostalgic generation” for a reason and even Generation Z seems to take part in the remembrance of decades they weren’t even born yet. Win’s approach was to create something that marries the old school with the new school – and introduces some serious but lighthearted nostalgia to young people that love to remember the old days. Jolly’s classic drop embossing comes in a modern, clean and minimalistic style, yet reminds of grandma’s sweets and brings back vintage childhood memories. The packaging design of this organic hard candy range focuses on each respective flavor that not only represents great taste, but a frisky, fun time where no struggles seem to exist – even if it’s just for a moment. The paper bag has a thin layer of cellulose-based bio plastic on its inner surface – so the outer packaging assures the sweet product on the inside stays fresh for a long time, just as memories of a great childhood do. Minor printing makes the packaging even more sustainable and once emptied out, it can be put in the wastepaper bin. Jolly combines modern design with a retro product and is part of a series of various conceptual projects by packaging design agency Win Creating Images, based in Berlin, Cologne, Aachen (Germany) and Zug (Switzerland).
