Rosie Palmer Design – Pasta Love
(Student brief) Brief: to create memorable boutique pasta (and pasta related) packaging that stands out in a crowded market place. My idea: The pasta packaging shows food couples that are ‘in love’ and feature a playful pasta love pun (the pasta packet includes a mix of both farfalle and macaroni). I was Inspired by the sixteenth-century Italian Mannerist artist, Giuseppe Arcimboldo, who created portraits from food. Inspired by Arcimboldo, I anthropomorphised the pasta to create a warm sense of friendliness. The pasta sits on the shelf alongside the other variations and it looks like they are talking to one another, having conversations. This pasta pun packaging stands out from the crowd and makes the consumer laugh.
