The visual identity for the Mindent Összevetve (i.e. All Things Considered) exhibition came out for the collaboration between the Doctoral School at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and the first-year MA students from the Fine Art Theory Department. The exhibition is a trace of a process: not a finished product, but a snapshot of an organic system. In this sense, it also reflects the workings of intellectual and creative workshops, where ideas and artworks continuously shape each other.
The works and the emerging themes create nodes that connect individual practices with one another. The boundary between natural and artificial becomes blurred: organic growth and guided structure are present at the same time. It is a fabric of individual works, where intentionally sought connections appear, but unexpected overlaps can also emerge. Here, artistic practices are not forced into a rigid concept, but together they shape the system.
The graphics developed for the concept reflect the close interweaving of different elements and the tracking of interdependent processes. The key visual embodies the core ideas of the concept, such as points of contact at various levels, the convergence of diverse artistic practices within an exhibition, and the formation of novel connections or nodes at the boundary between organic and non-organic structures. The visuals kind of explore how all these different works are tangled up and influencing each other. The exhibition’s title is visually referenced in an abstract manner, emphasizing the initial letter of Összevetve. As a visual continuation of this conceptual framework, the exhibition’s logotype was designed to build on this idea, using the interplay of positive and negative space and the formation of shared sets to ensure a continuous and cohesive visual identity. The lettering derived from the title extends these conceptual and visual principles, using a play of positive and negative space and the creation of shared sets, ensuring a continuous and cohesive visual appearance.
