” Finland’s leading brewery Sinebrychoff continues their creative partnership with international brand design agency bluemarlin on the rebrand of their limited edition Christmas lager. KOFF Jouluolut recently made its festive debut with a design that captures the spirit of a modern Finnish Christmas.Previously known as Sinebrychoff Jouluolut, this full-bodied Vienna-style lager is made with Saazer hops that give it that undeniable evergreen aroma. For over 30 years, the recipe and design of this Christmas time tradition have remained almost unchanged – until now.The brand has been rechristened as KOFF Jouluolut, meeting Sinebrychoff’s core objective of uniting the brands beneath the KOFF umbrella. The aim of the design was to energise the brand with a more contemporary look and feel whilst also maintaining its spirit as one of Finland’s most beloved Christmas traditions.A Truly Finnish Beer for a Truly Finnish ChristmasWith vintage charm and a whimsical touch, the design for KOFF Jouluolut delivers the holiday spirit that the Finnish wait for, year after year. The brand’s original packaging, which featured two bridled horses drawing a sleigh through a winter wonderland, has been reimagined. Created in conjunction with Porvoo-based illustrator, Jukka Pylväs, the new design mingles a classic Christmas scene with contemporary style, giving a nod to its 30-year legacy whilst also creating appeal for a modern audience.“Christmas time is a nostalgic time,” comments Katie Eaton, Creative Director at bluemarlin New York. “In Finland, there are so many wonderful holiday traditions to celebrate the season – like having Sinebrychoff Jouluolut at the Christmas table. After 30 years, the brand needed a refresh and we decided that the best way to do this was to embrace its legacy to trigger nostalgia in the hearts of the Finnish people.”“Christmas isn’t Christmas without KOFF Jouluolut,” comments Alexander Sneen, Vice President of Marketing at Sinebrychoff. “This seasonal edition always comes to market with festive anticipation. Thus, it was important to create a design that combined a sense of tradition with the contemporary, but also had the confident boldness and energy that is synonymous with the KOFF brand.” ”
