Pencil Studio – Blessed Be Thy Drinks

Reverend Hubert is a brand that has reignited a passion for a good knees up and living a colourful life, old family recipes developed purely to share with those closest to you.

Reverend Hubert was a charming man who had an equal passion for his congregation as he did living life to the full, which he did exceedingly well. He created his Winter Liqueur recipe in 1904 for the joyful Christmas gathering of his army colleagues and congregation.

Updated by his great-grandson Thomas, it was essentrial that we created a narrative to who Reverend Hubert was and to visulaise his heartfelt passion and commitment not only to his faith but also to living life.

We delivered a bottle that really expresses the personality of Reverend Hubert as both a man of religion the centre of a bloody good party.

We took stained glass as a core visualise asset to create a language and style that can be applied and create a strong narrative to the brand. The glass giving a bright and visually engaging element to the packs and the lead work which is black foil embossed is the part that knits al of the elements together. The core illustration of the character is then split down the middle, a kind of Jekyl and Hide approach; the left side is the man of faith, the right a man of the party.
