The idea behind sports memorabilia startup Bladez (pronounced like “blades”) is simple: give fans a chance to relive their favorite moments with medallions made of grass taken straight from the field, fairway or pitch.
The blades of grass, compressed into a disc emblazoned with the logo or crest of a team or club, become a unique keepsake. Fans can buy Bladez celebrating their favorite club, a winning season, or even a specific game or match.
The Bladez brand captures the nostalgia, pride and excitement of sports with one simple phrase: Own the moment.
The logomark is a not-so-subtle nod to the product itself. Resembling the stripes of a freshly cut field and abstracted “B,” it’s designed to live on its own or alongside the brand name. The vintage print-inspired typeface strengthens the brand’s nostalgic appeal. The “established” date in roman numerals drives the point home.
We took it a step further with a timeless colors like pitch green, team white, cup gold and glory red—alongside both modern and historic photos edited to be era-agnostic. The goal is to tell a cohesive story that captures the kinds of feelings that only sports can evoke.
It’s a story that comes to life beautifully on the Bladez website, which during this launch stage is designed to appeal to clubs, organizations and venues to bring the medallions to their pro shops and gift shops.
Headlines like “Maybe you were there. Maybe you wish you were. Now you can own the moment.” capture the emotional attachment people have to their favorite sports memories, and invite partners to share in that emotional connection. And excitement-inducing images generate demand, while additional copy explains the process and invites visitors to take the next step.
A key element of the Bladez brand (and of the sporting experience) is authenticity, and the website delivers there, too. Each Bladez medallion is packaged with a QR code for buyers to verify the date, time and location their grass was cut and collected, further underscoring the promise to, “Own the moment.”
