Identity and Packaging Design for Black Star Pastry

Identity and Packaging Design for Black Star Pastry

This was a school project (concept only), it still was such a fun redesigning from a whole new perspective after years.

‘In 2008 Christopher Thé opened his own boutique patisserie, Black Star Pastry, in Newtown, which has flourished and garnered critical praise locally and internationally.’ Based on the client’s vision, I have decided to elaborate on the concept of vintage into something luxuriant throughout its branding design with a modern twist. I came up with a background story to associate with the design in order to enhance the customers’ understanding and impression of the branding image.

The story of the star, ‘A little boy’s tears fall into the lake with a splash creating shining stars paving the way home for his beloved father who had lost his way in the forest.’ This fairytale-like story forms the basis of visual features in the design concept of the mark.
