We connected with Guy & Alon Ozery back in 2018 and were charmed with the story of their family bakery, starting with their father in a small shop baking pitas in Toronto, Canada.
They take pride in being a family business and are not owned by a large food conglomerate, so we immediately wanted to point that out in their Brand Descriptor, adding “Family” to create “Ozery Family Bakery.”
From there, we set to accomplish two things: First to create a cohesive system of brand elements that pop off shelf. Secondly, speak to the honest & uncomplicated nature of their product offerings.
We created a fabric background to provide a sense of warmth, but also provide a fairly clean canvas for the logo to be hero. Other communications fall easily beneath the logo with a clear hierarchy. Deckled edges and banners help further the structure to help make it easy for shoppers to find their favorite product but also to connect with the brand from an emotional standpoint.
We created a strong visual system so everything falls under the Ozery brand, but each baked format is distinct in typography. Each flavor within a format is recognizeable through color.
We integrated pops of color with textural backgrounds, and found a balance of both approachable and adventurous within brand communications. Typography is friendly and full of personality, with quips on inspiring ways to use the product and copy that whets the appetite. We added illustrations of products and ingredients to help articulate texture and highlight flavors.
Last, but not least, we created illustrations of the two brothers to re-emphasize the family communication & have some fun.
The overall affect creates an ownable brand block, clear hierarchy and a true reflection of the personality & values of Ozery Family Bakery. The family is thrilled with the outcome as are their retail partners, as sales have doubled since working together for several years, with the largest increases found in the United States.
