The Brand
Barken’s is a clean bread brand that prioritizes ingredient transparency and literacy. The brand is focused on conscious consumption, ensuring that customers are aware of the cleanliness and uniqueness of their bread products.
The Concept
Barken’s packaging design revolves around creating a distinct visual identity that communicates the brand’s message of love, care, and transparency. The design incorporates elements inspired by personal handwritten diaries, such as handwritten fonts, doodles, and highlights, to reflect the personalized and honest approach of the brand. The use of Polaroid-like windows and a pastel color palette further enhances the caring and soft appearance of the packaging, making the product stand out on the shelf.
The Intention
We redesigned Barken’s logo to be bold and trustworthy. The intentional play between the letters ‘E’ and ‘K’ shows care and warmth, echoing the fluffing of bread when baked. Barken’s approach to their brand is always rooted in love and kindness, represented by the heart in the apostrophe.
We used a pastel color palette that gives the brand a soft and caring appearance. Each color represents a type of bread, aiding in better product recognition.
The ample windows and clean hierarchy of content, including a large logo and product name, make it easy for customers to navigate and recognize different bread types and flavors. The use of the word ‘Clean’ as a prefix to product names reinforces Barken’s commitment to quality and transparency.
