Banana Creative Blends Tradition and Modernity in Cantina’s Brand Identity

This identity design was created for a restaurant that reimagines the typical Venezuelan school cafeteria or diner, which are commonly referred to as luncheonette, canteen or, as said in Spanish: “Cantina”. These are usually places of comfort where different people come to be together while sharing a meal or snack.

Our mission with “Cantina” was to offer in the city of Caracas a different experience crafted around three core messages and ideas:
1. Good food. Stripped from all pretentiousness and of the highest possible quality that is the result of artisanal and honest processes and that all comes together to create a varied menu.
2. Good attention. The kind that feels welcoming and human.
3. Our surroundings. The catalyst for what’s essentially a simple experience that ends up feeling familiar and, above everything else, memorable.

In a city where restaurants and gastronomic offerings tend to focus on heavy night outs and high cuisine, and with most of them falling out of reach for many, “Cantina” is a breath of fresh air. We give anyone and everyone a quality gastronomic experience at any moment that they choose to during their days and everyday life. And we do so in a way that they’re sure to remember.

By doing this, we bring and sit together at the same table the many various diners of today, all while offering through our 6 category menu different preparations and dishes that come from distant cultural origins and share the same underlying theme: “Comfort Food”. Thus, crafting a menu that really has “something for all and for every moment”.
