Balancing efficacy and cheeriness, Aster’s minimal packaging design features clinical, functional typography punctuated by unique, delightful accents—promising to make dull days a bit more enjoyable.
“The experience of using the product was our primary inspiration. We wanted to create a product that at first blush felt very polished and serious, but as you spent time with it a more playful side would emerge. The packaging is primarily type-based and set in the Neue Haas Grotesk, a classic, Helvetica predecessor which lends a neutral, authoritative voice to the brand. However, upon closer inspection the serious text is actually peppered with subtle underlines, outlines, dingbats, type-based seals, and other eccentric decoration that you would expect to find from a more indulgent product like a vintage candy. We were trying to create a visual metaphor that said, if you take this product you’ll have a better outlook and with that you start to see these fun sides emerge out of boring everyday places and situations.”
Along with 200mg broad-spectrum CBD per serving, Aster’s CBD Pastilles includes mood-lifting L-theanine and reishi mushroom and comes in three flavors: mint, lavender, and watermelon.
