Another Book Club Visual Identity

Another Book Club Visual Identity

This project is something special for me, as it is something personal, after many years ruminating on the idea of starting a book club, I finally took the initiative to start and this visual identity was born.

The club’s purpose is to encourage the learning and practice of the English language in conjunction with encouraging reading. Therefore, the idea of using abc came from, as a reduced version of the brand, enhancing its usability and applicability.

Inspired by the illuminations produced by priests in the Middle Ages, highly crafted and dramatic fonts and letters, the font Sloop ScriptBoldTwo is used for the word book, along with a serif font, used in printed materials such as books, here the font chosen is: FreightBig Pro .

The choice of color to be an extremely bright red, this time the inspiration comes from the work The Scarlet Letter, together with two tones of black giving even more contrast and drama, along with a light tone, which refers to the tone of book pages .

The idea here is to put the book highlighted and at the center of everything, which is why in all applications of the logo the letter B and the word Book have a font and coloring like the rest of the letters and names.

The combination of these colors, references and fonts results in a modern and timeless project, and above all simple, which allows the identity to adapt to its applications in the future, as it was a necessity for it to be able to be applied to different themes, therefore something simple and clean that straddles the present and the past was our goal.
