Chen Design Associates – Wayward Whiskey Brand Packaging
Santa Cruz small craft distillery, Venus Spirits wanted a striking personality for its sustainable blue agave, gin and whiskey product lines, appealing to a younger audience. Chen Design Associate’s branding and packaging for Wayward Whiskey was inspired by the 1792-94 whiskey rebellion. The result is both rustic and clean, nostalgic and contemporary.
The design for Wayward Whiskey gives a nod to an American heritage while raising the flag for the west coast. It makes bold promises and the spirit delivers on them. If Ernest Hemingway and Hunter Thompson had a bare knuckle fistfight, Wayward Whiskey is what they would sit down to drink at the end of it.
