A project for a hotel, focusing on the identity of its most relaxing outlet: the spa at Hotel Marina Badalona, a work that creates an entire metaphoric universe, transporting us to an oasis of tranquility. To bring this sense of relaxation to life, we captured the calm that follows a period of stress through the concept of “the last drop of the storm.” This inspired us to create the name ‘Amaina,’ which signifies the departure of negativity and the arrival of absolute relaxation. Furthermore, we developed a visual language that replicates the sinuous shapes of a drop falling into the water, with a central tension that gradually dissipates until it completely disappears. This approach allows us to construct fluid compositions, drawing a visual poetry that evokes pure calm.
The visual identity embraces simplicity and elegance, where the fluidity of water and the gradual fading of tension are central motifs. The typography, with its delicate and slightly curved forms, reinforces the soft and serene atmosphere that permeates the spa’s identity. The logo ‘Amaina’ is designed in a refined custom typeface, establishing a connection to the natural and calming essence of water. The composition of the elements follows a rhythmic flow, just like the movement of ripples on water, guiding the viewer into a peaceful state of mind.
In terms of visual assets, the use of circular forms plays a key role. The spiral, reminiscent of the calming motion of a drop rippling outward, is used strategically across different pieces of communication. The textured imagery evokes natural elements—whether it be the soft hues of a sunset or the gentle texture of water—bringing a tactile sense to the spa’s visual identity. The color palette, with its muted tones, reflects both the coastal surroundings and the calming effects of the treatments, while the layered typographic approach creates a sense of tranquility that deepens with each glance. The design elements work harmoniously together to reinforce the idea of a tranquil retreat, inviting clients to immerse themselves fully in the experience of relaxation and rejuvenation.
