Zebra is a research group based in Murcia, involved in studying rare human diseases using the zebrafish model, which is 70% similar to humans. This similarity makes it highly beneficial for research.
The objectives have been to understand the importance of zebrafish in biomedical research and to correct errors in its dissemination to gain greater institutional and public support.
Regarding the design, a strong concept has been sought to unify and cohesively integrate the entire project, using a grid that combines organic and geometric elements based on the golden ratio, applicable to both digital and printed media.
From this compositional foundation, a cohesive visual identity has been structured through a diversified and hierarchical sub-brand system.
Research has been conducted on data visualization and results through interactive digital content on a responsive website, complemented by printed content in an investor dossier to be sent to future investors.
A communication strategy has also been developed to reach the target investor audience, including the dossier, the website, and a promotional piece featuring packaging designed exclusively for a zebrafish model, along with a small informative fold-out brochure with relevant data. This promotional piece is intended to create an impactful experience for the investors who receive it, closing the entire strategy to reach the investor audience.
In this way, a fully connected visual and identity system has been created that delivers a clear message and strongly solicits action from the investor audience. We have developed a product from scratch, creating its naming, branding, and communication. Promotion has been developed, and relevant analyses have been conducted to align with the briefing and address the project’s communication needs. We have experimented with form, image, and text, achieving graphic results that break with the usual tone of scientific communication, creating new conceptual narratives through an open language that the audience can decode.
Furthermore, the project has a social purpose: to support Murcia-based research aiming to find the causes of rare human diseases and thereby develop drugs specifically for those diseases.
