Allemand Chocolatiers

InnerSociety – Allemand Chocolatiers

Otto Käutner found his passion for chocolate when he was in his early 20s after growing up in Germany with its many sweet treats and world-renowned chocolate. Upon studying at a culinary school focused in pastries and candy making in Paris, France, Otto graduated and open his first chocolatier shop in Paris in 1876. Fleeing the German invasion of France, the family moved to the United States in 1939 and started new lives. With the attention to detail, care in every stir, and top-notch ingredients, “Allemand Chocolatiers” (the French word for “German”) grew to be the Käutner’s family business. Generations have been raised in and around Allemand Chocolatiers with the same passion Otto had in his youth; his 3rd great-grandson Linus is the owner of the shop and continues to pour love and passion into every piece of chocolate just as his father and grandfather before him. Objective:Linus approached us looking for a brand refresh to pay homage to to the company’s rich history, while still appealing to today’s market. Our goal was to marry the classic and timeless design of the time period with the modern day flair.Outcome:Through months of research, we developed the brand you see today for Allemand Chocolatiers. A typographical brand mark with a minimal seal of excellence balance the new and the old. The pairing of a classic serif font with the modern lines of a sans serif brings the mark to life.No expense was spared when designing the packaging. Each wrap and box is created using the finest papers and card-stocks. The chocolates are wrapped in gold foils and the exteriors of the packaging are adorned with pressed gold foil.
