Hosted at 02 June & Few Steps Ahead, Kick Off 2024 was conceived by the founders as an energetic team-building initiative for the studio’s designers and architects. Envisioned as more than a sports tournament, the event was designed to bring together a multidisciplinary team through shared moments of competition, collaboration and camaraderie. It created an opportunity for the studio to step away from everyday project work and engage in a collective experience that reinforced team spirit, mutual respect and a sense of belonging.
True to the design-led ethos of the practice, the event demanded its own distinct visual and communication language. The objective was to develop an identity that felt authentic to the studio’s culture while capturing the excitement, intensity and rhythm of sport. Drawing inspiration from contemporary design sensibilities and universal sports symbolism, we created a bold, modern and playful identity system that balanced structure with expression. The visual language reflected both the competitive nature of the tournament and the collaborative mindset that defines the 02JFSA team, using dynamic compositions, graphic elements and a confident tone to convey movement, momentum and unity.
The identity was conceived as a flexible system capable of translating seamlessly across multiple touchpoints. From digital announcements and internal communications to team jerseys and on-ground graphics, each element worked cohesively to build anticipation, encourage participation and create a shared visual experience. Consistency across formats ensured that the event felt immersive and well-considered, while still retaining an energetic and approachable character.
Orange was selected as the hero colour for the identity due to its inherent energy and strong psychological impact. Vibrant and highly visible, the colour evokes enthusiasm, optimism and action, qualities that aligned naturally with the purpose of Kick Off 2024. Striking a balance between youthful vibrancy and confident clarity, orange helped the identity stand out across applications while reinforcing the lively, spirited atmosphere of the tournament. Used strategically across digital and physical touchpoints, it amplified the event’s presence and contributed to a memorable, high-energy experience that celebrated teamwork, creativity and the collective spirit of the studio.
