Hellenic Routes Wine is a line of Greek wines produced exclusively for export, showcasing the country’s most emblematic grape varieties: Agiorgitiko from Nemea, Assyrtiko from Santorini, Vidiano from Crete, and Xinomavro from Naousa. Each wine reflects its place of origin and together they create a portrait of Greece’s rich viticultural heritage.
The packaging is conceived with a philatelic spirit. Greece’s postage stamps inspired a system in which each bottle functions as a message from its land of origin. The stamps featured on the labels depict traditional costumes from the different regions. Garments that carry centuries of history, ritual, and identity. These costumes are a glimpse into the fashions of an era when there was pride in every wearable item and clothing served as a measure of social status. They reveal how men and women in different regions presented themselves, offering a window into the culture and daily life of the past.
Each variety carries its original costume stamp, with its perforated edge and complemented by a distinct supporting colour palette. This approach makes the series feel like a set of rare finds: distinct bottles that tell individual stories yet form a coherent whole. Details such as postmarks strengthen the impression of authenticity, suggesting that each bottle has journeyed across borders to reach the consumer’s table.
The packaging choice was equally deliberate. We partnered with Phil the Bottle, a renowned brand known for its sleek, refillable, nomadic form. Its flask-like silhouette not only enhances portability but also underlines the sustainable philosophy behind the product. These bottles are designed to be refilled and reused, transforming packaging from something disposable into something enduring. With every refill, the story of Hellenic Routes continues—new chapters added to a journey that never ends.
Hellenic Routes Wine is an invitation to discover Greece through its terroirs, traditions, and people. It connects history and folklore with contemporary aesthetics and sustainable practice. It’s a journey that begins in the vineyard and warms both hearts and tables.
