Studio Take Two Develops Lumineve as a Nighttime Skincare Brand Aligned With Skin Biology and Ritual Driven Design

Studio Take Two Develops Lumineve as a Nighttime Skincare Brand Aligned With Skin Biology and Ritual Driven Design

The Indian skincare consumer has evolved rapidly. They are more informed, more invested, and far more intentional about what they put on their skin. With access to global beauty conversations, rising ingredient literacy, and a growing willingness to invest in self-care, expectations from skincare have fundamentally shifted.

Yet the category continues to be built around routines in which skincare competes with busy schedules and often falls apart in practice. For most consumers, daytime skincare feels inconsistent and rushed.

Nighttime, however, offers a natural pause. A moment of ease where consumers are more willing to invest time and attention. It is also when the skin is most receptive, making it the most effective window for care.

No brand had truly owned nighttime skincare as a focused category.

This presented an opportunity to build a brand that aligns with both behaviour and biology, where skincare is not forced into the day, but naturally fits into the rhythm of the night.

The Ask
To create a premium skincare brand built exclusively around nighttime skin recovery as a singular, ownable proposition. Centred on skin–type–specific ranges and a proprietary, patented technology, the brand needed to feel globally competitive, balancing a strong, science-first foundation with an indulgent product experience.

Core Insight
Nighttime skincare is fundamentally different from daytime routines. It signals a shift to rest and renewal. It is quieter, more personal, and inherently ritualistic. For the consumer, this is not just a functional moment, but one that is sensorial, reflective, and deeply individual.

Lumineve was built on this understanding — that the Indian consumer is no longer seeking just potent skincare, but is equally willing to invest in an experience that feels indulgent and calming. The aim was to bring these together, creating a brand that feels both premium in experience and potent in performance.

Visual Identity
The identity is anchored in a singular, defining symbol — the phases of the moon.

Just as the moon moves through cycles of renewal, the skin follows its own circadian rhythm at night — shifting into repair, regeneration, and restoration. The phases serve as a metaphor for this continuous process, reinforcing the idea that skincare is not a one-time action but an ongoing nightly cycle.

Drawing from its spherical form and crescent phases, the visual and structural language reflects the rhythm of the night and the idea of continuous renewal.

The primary packaging adopts soft, rounded forms inspired by the moon’s geometry, creating a sense of balance, calm, and completeness. These forms translate into a tactile experience that feels considered and intentional, aligning with the idea of a nightly ritual.

Across touchpoints, the crescent becomes a recurring visual cue, building recognition while reinforcing the brand’s core association with nighttime and repair.

Packaging Design
The design moves away from excess, focusing on creating a sensorial, elevated experience. While science and benefit-led communication are clearly articulated on the pack, equal emphasis is placed on how the product feels.

Pearlised matte finishes, inspired by the soft glow and luminosity of the night, introduce depth while maintaining a refined, understated premium quality.

The colour system is developed around skin types, drawing from deep blues and tonal variations of the night, enabling intuitive navigation across the range.

The packaging is designed to create an immediate emotional connection, with experience leading the interaction and performance reinforcing it over time.
