For VARA Scents, Klay Create explored how a scented candle could become more than a decorative object, transforming it into an atmospheric design experience that blends materiality, scent, and visual identity.
Rather than approaching the brand through the conventional aesthetics of candle packaging, the project focused on creating a sensory universe where the object itself plays a central role in the brand narrative. The goal was to design a product that feels collectible and permanent, something meant to remain in the home long after the candle has burned out.
At the heart of the concept is the ceramic vessel. Inspired by artisanal craftsmanship and architectural textures, the candle jar becomes a sculptural object rather than a disposable container. Subtle surface details and tactile finishes give the piece a sense of permanence, reinforcing the idea that the candle functions both as fragrance and as a design object within the space.
The visual identity reflects this same balance between refinement and atmosphere. Instead of relying on heavy ornamentation, the design embraces restraint: elegant typography, carefully balanced compositions, and a color palette that evokes warmth and intimacy. These elements create a brand presence that feels calm, sophisticated, and quietly luxurious.
Packaging was designed to extend this sensory narrative. The box acts as a protective shell for the ceramic vessel while maintaining the same minimal yet expressive aesthetic. Every element, from the typography hierarchy to the spacing of graphic elements, was considered to create a sense of calm anticipation when the product is opened.
Beyond the physical product, the brand language also translates into imagery and digital environments where light, shadow, and texture play an important role. Photography and visual compositions were developed to evoke quiet moments at home, reinforcing the emotional atmosphere that defines the brand.
Through this project, Klay Create positions VARA Scents as a candle brand that moves beyond fragrance alone. By combining sculptural product design, restrained visual identity, and a strong sense of atmosphere, the brand invites users to experience scent as part of a broader ritual of space, mood, and intimacy.
