Student Diana Zabolotnaya Developed A Mini-Identity For The Clown And Mime Theater Festival “Karandash-Fest 2026”

The festival of clown and mime theaters «Karandash-Fest 2026» is conceived as an annual summer tradition of the ancient city of Staritsa in the Tver region, the place where the great clown Karandash once began his creative career. The Karandash-Fest will be held in August 2026, during the International Clown Week, which gives the event an additional symbolic and professional context.

Diana Zabolotnaya developed the concept of a mini-identity for this event, focusing on illustration as the main means of expression. The visual solution is based on a reinterpretation of the images from last year: familiar elements receive a new interpretation and a more modern sound. The concept pays special attention to the Karandash clown himself, the central figure of the festival, as well as his faithful assistant, the dog Klyaksa, which becomes an important emotional accent of the entire identity.

The graphics are built on a modular principle and can be easily combined with each other, allowing you to create new compositions, so that the viewer does not get tired of the visual language and perceives it in a new way every time. The visual style can be easily scaled to horizontal banner formats, while maintaining expressiveness and readability. Graphics work equally well in both print and digital media, remaining vibrant and seamless in any environment.

The slogan of Karandash-Fest — “for all children who are tired of being adults” — emphasizes the atmosphere of the event, its lightness, warmth and ability to return the audience to a state of sincere joy, play and carefree.
