Pink Pelican Srebarna Rosé Label Design

The Pink Pelican Srebarna Rosé label design is inspired by the unique natural landscape of the Srebarna Nature Reserve, a UNESCO-protected wetland known for its dynamic and ever-changing relationship between water and land. Characterized by fragmented island formations, soft transitions, and a constantly shifting environment, the reserve became the conceptual foundation and primary source of inspiration for the project.

Rather than approaching the design through literal illustration, the concept was developed as a material and structural translation of the landscape. Careful observation of the lake and its small island formations led to the creation of a label system built from two contrasting paper stocks, reflecting the interplay between solid land and fluid water. This contrast allows the composition to visually and physically express the balance between stability and movement.

The layered construction introduces both visual and tactile depth, allowing the label to communicate through structure as well as surface. Embossed ripple patterns flow organically between the island-like forms, subtly referencing the movement of water across the surface of the lake. These details create a sensory experience, encouraging interaction and reinforcing the connection between the user and the object.

This interplay between texture, structure, and composition allows the label to evoke a strong sense of place without relying on direct or literal imagery. Instead of depicting the landscape, the design captures its essence through abstraction and materiality.

The result is a refined and contemporary label design that transforms a natural environment into a tactile and immersive visual experience. Balancing minimalism with rich material expression, the project highlights how thoughtful detailing and considered material choices can elevate packaging into a sensory, narrative-driven design object with a strong sense of identity.
