Atera is a footwear brand designed in Italy and produced in Turkey, combining a bold industrial attitude with a deep respect for craftsmanship. The Canvas House was responsible for developing the brand’s visual identity, packaging design, and overall creative direction, shaping a cohesive brand world from concept to execution.
The design approach focused on translating Atera’s strong character into a clear and confident visual language. Through bold typography, structured compositions, and tactile packaging elements, The Canvas House created a system that reflects both the strength of the product and the precision behind its craftsmanship.
The brand’s symbol is a crow, chosen intentionally for its powerful and intelligent character as well as its remarkable longevity. Often associated with resilience and sharp perception, the crow reflects the brand’s bold and enduring spirit. This symbolism also guided the color palette, which draws inspiration from the deep tones and subtle variations found in the crow’s feathers and the natural environment it inhabits.
A key inspiration for the project was the brand’s meticulous production process, where the workshop operates almost like a laboratory. This idea evolved into the concept of Atera Lab, which The Canvas House integrated into the branding and packaging through subtle experimental and industrial references.
From brand identity to packaging applications, the project explores how a contemporary footwear brand can express both craft and experimentation while building a distinctive and recognizable visual presence.
