Chilimba is a popcorn and corn snacks brand inspired by the vibrant visual culture of Latin America.
Corn has deep roots in the region. It was first domesticated in Mexico thousands of years ago and later spread across the Americas, becoming one of the most important staple foods in local cuisine and culture. This origin story became the conceptual starting point for the brand’s visual language and helped shape the atmosphere of the project.
The name Chilimba carries a playful Latin American sound that immediately suggests energy, color, and movement. It sets the tone of the brand and gives it a distinct and memorable personality.
The key visual inspiration comes from the masks of lucha libre, the iconic Mexican wrestling tradition. In lucha libre every fighter performs under a unique mask that represents their character and identity in the ring. This idea was translated directly into the packaging concept. In the world of Chilimba, every flavor becomes its own wrestler. Each snack variety is represented by a distinctive mask design and its own bold color palette, giving every product a recognizable character while keeping the system visually consistent.
The visual identity relies on strong color contrasts, large graphic shapes, and expressive illustrations. Together these elements create packaging that feels energetic and playful while remaining clear, bold, and highly visible on the shelf. The result is a system that is easy to navigate for consumers and instantly recognizable in the retail environment.
