Branch & Bloom is a florist and plant shop based in Montreal, conceived as a quiet neighborhood space rooted in care, presence, and everyday expressions of love. The project explores a softer, more human approach to floral retail—moving away from event-driven communication and instead focusing on the smaller, more personal moments that shape daily life. Whether it’s bringing a plant home, marking a subtle milestone, or offering a simple gesture to someone else, the brand positions itself as a companion to these moments rather than a performer of occasions.
At the core of the identity is a simple idea: love exists in both giving and growing. This duality informs the entire system, balancing floristry and plant care under one calm and cohesive narrative. Rather than relying on overt romantic cues or expressive slogans, the brand communicates through restraint—allowing tone, material, and composition to carry meaning in a more subtle and lasting way.
The naming, Branch & Bloom, reflects this balance. “Branch” represents structure, grounding, and growth, while “Bloom” captures softness, change, and expression. Together, they form a natural relationship between stability and emotion, echoed throughout the visual and verbal identity.
The visual system is intentionally minimal yet warm. A palette of deep, natural greens paired with clean whites establishes a sense of calm and clarity, while maintaining a strong connection to botanical elements. Typography leans toward editorial simplicity, creating a voice that feels composed, human, and unforced. The logo itself is contained within a rounded hexagonal form subtle, distinctive, and versatile allowing it to move seamlessly across applications.
A key component of the identity is a series of naive, hand-drawn illustrations that depict quiet human moments: offering flowers, sitting with plants, or sharing time with others. These illustrations act as emotional anchors within the system, reinforcing the brand’s role as a witness to everyday acts of care without becoming overly narrative or sentimental.
The system extends across packaging, printed materials, digital touchpoints, and spatial applications, maintaining consistency through simplicity and thoughtful restraint. Materials and finishes are selected to feel tactile and honest, reinforcing the brand’s human quality without overproduction.
Branch & Bloom ultimately positions itself not just as a place to buy flowers or plants, but as a presence within people’s lives—steady, warm, and quietly involved in moments of giving, growing, and being.
