Prince Explorer Monaco Gin is a packaging project that approaches design as a tool for cultural construction and strategic brand positioning. The concept is inspired by Prince Albert I of Monaco—a navigator, oceanographer, and explorer, who reframed exploration not as a visual spectacle, but as a method, a source of knowledge, and a pursuit of precision.
The graphic system employs an editorial approach, characterized by a structured composition and a clear typographic hierarchy that draws inspiration from scientific publications, nautical charts, and historical documents. Every formal decision follows a functional logic: removing the superfluous to reinforce meaning. The design prioritizes legibility, balance, and coherence, resulting in a solid and timeless identity.
The color palette and finishing choices support a vision of contemporary luxury based on restraint and control, aligned with Monaco’s cultural values. The packaging avoids obvious decorative devices and instead embraces a refined aesthetic, where quality is perceived through proportion, visual rhythm, and the deliberate use of space.
Prince Explorer presents itself as an object that communicates through visual intelligence rather than immediate impact. A design that stands out through criteria, not excess. From an evaluative standpoint, the project demonstrates conceptual clarity, narrative consistency, and an effective translation of a historical reference into a contemporary and relevant graphic language.
