Tailored to the modern Indian woman, Lyskraft’s women’s fashion brand Coyu aims to break down the complexity and fragmentation of Indian fashion while offering a diverse collection of products, to empower individuals to express their style and creativity.
We partnered with Coyu to craft and launch the new retail experience for its 6000 sq ft. Gurugram store – a curated, creative and ever-changing premium retail space that can house over 50 handpicked fashion labels, featuring a regular rotation of styles and trends.
The objective was for the Coyu store to offer a diverse collection of products that empower women to express their individuality and disrupt the Indian premium fashion market. The brand name ‘Coyu’ stems from the phrase ‘curated for you’.
The store provides a platform for growth and knowledge, inspiring women to express their identity and character through premium fashion and trend-led newness.
The layout has the capability to be ‘refreshed’ to keep the store vibrant and engaging with 20% of the space reserved for emerging brands.
The material and colour concept is rooted in warmth and tactility, creating an inviting yet aspirational environment defined by considered, layered textures. Soft, neutral foundations provide a sense of calm and elevation, while carefully placed moments of disruption introduce intrigue and surprise. Sheer purple voiles form ephemeral roomsets, their translucent layers lending a sense of mystery, while flashes of silver drapery highlight key brand banners with a subtle, premium shimmer.
Playful touches emerge in the bold brand blue, reimagined as a natural rock formation that recalls the oyster within the brand’s logo – a hidden “pearl” of discovery for customers to find. The overall palette is fresh and modern, with materials chosen for their ability to flow and adapt, ensuring a premium yet effortless atmosphere that feels both elevated and engaging at every turn.
The store has been designed to deliver a personalised shopping experience, with an artistic approach to the store architecture that has been designed to create intrigue around every corner, all centred around the brand’s core philosophy of ‘Joy of the Find’.
Featuring a regular rotation of styles and trends, the store is a platform for emerging designers. It tells the brands’ stories and provenance through a mix of digital projection, screens and hanging POS that are positioned alongside key brands.
A combination of digital projection, screens, oversized logos and unexpected signage tells the story of featured brands. Six spacious trial rooms, a dedicated lounge area, in-house tailoring and a gourmet coffee station create an exclusive yet welcoming ambiance.
The layout has the capability to be ‘refreshed’ to keep the store vibrant and engaging, with 20% of the space reserved for emerging brands.
The tone of voice is poetic and present throughout, found on glazing, walls and flooring, subtly guiding the customer. Brand stories and provenance are prioritised, new drops are celebrated giving the customer a sense of ‘I found it first here at Coyu’.
One of the main challenges was the sheer scale of the space, with its soaring ceilings and extensive full-height glazing. To avoid the interior feeling empty or cluttered, we designed a series of bold, monolithic mid-floor structures that flow seamlessly through the store. These sculptural forms make a few powerful statements rather than relying on many smaller fixtures, and their height and presence fully embrace the generous volume of the space. Viewed from above, their layout subtly echoes the brand’s logo, creating a sense of identity that is both playful and unmistakable. From outside, the structures are clearly visible through the glazing, making an architectural statement that sparks curiosity and embodies the brand motto, ‘Joy of the Find,’ enticing passers-by to step inside and explore the store’s discoveries.
Coyu also hosts in-person events for new drops, directly bringing the brand and consumer together.
