The Background & Brief
Plymouth Gin partnered once again with the Ocean Conservation Trust to launch the 2025 Ocean Edition, the third limited-edition bottle in their ongoing collaboration. This meaningful relationship between two South West-based organisations aimed to raise awareness and support for UK ocean conservation. The brief was to bring to life the beauty of a restored ocean and evolve the visual storytelling established by the previous editions.

The Strategy
With two successful editions already on shelf, the 2025 challenge was to show visible progress. This year, we wanted to shift the narrative from symbolic gestures to a vivid expression of regeneration. The design needed to capture the richness of a thriving ocean and communicate a hopeful, forward-looking message. At the same time, it had to create standout, spark conversation and reinforce Plymouth Gin’s sustainability credentials.

The Creative Process
Boundless Brand Design created a vibrant underwater scene that bursts with life. The 2025 bottle features lush seagrass beds, jewel-toned crabs, delicate seahorses and shoals of fish, representing the biodiversity that can return when we protect marine habitats. The illustration wraps the bottle in a fully immersive moment of ocean revival.

True to the brand’s sustainability values, both the bottle and label are made from 100 percent recyclable materials. The rich emerald glass colour is baked in, avoiding the need for additional decoration. When all three limited-editions are viewed side-by-side, each bottle tells a powerful story of ocean restoration, evolving from calm, open waters to a flourishing marine ecosystem filled with thriving sea life and seagrass.

Results, Value & Impact
This third release has continued to build momentum and deepen consumer connection.
• £1 donated to the Ocean Conservation Trust for every bottle sold
• A growing collectible series with a strong conservation message
• Elevated awareness of UK ocean restoration efforts
