Background & brief
Lolea Spritz needed to take their brand from bottle to experience. While their Mediterranean-inspired aperitif had captured taste buds, they lacked a physical space that embodied the effortless elegance and spontaneous joy of their brand promise. The challenge was clear: create a pop-up bar environment that would make their target audience – the “Life Explorers” – feel like they’d been transported to a sun-drenched Mediterranean terrace.
The brief demanded more than just a branded space; it required designing an immersive environment that would capture the essence of those perfect aperitivo moments – spontaneous, social, and infused with the relaxed sophistication that defines Mediterranean living.
The Strategy
Our space design strategy centred on creating an authentic Mediterranean escape.
The key to unlock this feeling was to invite sensory engagement: visual elements that evoke Mediterranean landscapes, tactile materials for naturally elegance, and spatial arrangements that encourage the social spontaneity central to aperitivo culture. Every design decision was filtered through one key question: does this make Life Explorers want to linger, connect, and let life flow naturally?
The Creative Process
The space comes alive through our signature tree-like bottle display – a sculptural centrepiece where Mediterranean greenery winds organically around Lolea bottles, creating living product theatre that effortlessly transports us to another world.
Our colour palette of teal and white provides the perfect canvas for moments of vibrant joy – pops of colour from bottle designs create visual rhythm throughout the space, while soft natural textures add that essential laid-back sophistication. The botanical graphics whisper rather than shout, subtly nodding to Lolea’s refined natural ingredients without overwhelming the relaxed atmosphere.
Results, Value & Impact
The Lolea Spritz redesign has successfully elevated brand recognition and market penetration across key territories. In Spain, the rebrand contributed to a remarkable 67% increase in brand awareness among previously unfamiliar consumers, transforming Lolea from an unknown entity into a recognised Mediterranean lifestyle brand. The repositioning and design has proven particularly effective in the competitive US market, where its sophisticated yet approachable aesthetic helped secure rapid sell-through at Albertsons within weeks of launch. This success directly enabled two significant new retail partnerships with Publix and Albertsons—listings that were previously unattainable for the sangria category.
