MOLEK by Giuseppe Terrasi Signals a Strategic Shift in Luxury Automotive Wrapping Design

The project originated from the strategic necessity to elevate “VM Wrapping,” an automotive customization business founded by Vincenzo Musso. Despite the high technical quality of the services provided, the previous visual identity failed to reflect the brand’s expertise. The original logo characterized by discordant fonts, a fragmented layout, and a “grunge” aesthetic positioned the business as a small, local workshop. The perception was limited to a functional service provider (“applying stickers”), creating a disconnect with the target audience of luxury and supercar owners. The brief was to dismantle this local perception and build a brand identity that communicates engineering precision, luxury, and industrial solidity.

The transformation began with the naming strategy. Moving away from the personal initials of the founder (“VM”), we developed MOLEK. This name retains the founder’s initial (‘M’) but evolves into a concept of industrial scale: the Molecule. The name suggests the fundamental particle of matter, representing the wrapping film itself a material that bonds with surfaces to transform them completely. The shift from “VM Wrapping” to “MOLEK” marks the transition from a personal signature to a visionary brand entity.

From Service to Manufacturer A crucial driver for the rebranding was the long-term vision to launch a proprietary product line. Retaining the name “VM Wrapping” would have limited this expansion, as other professional wrappers would view it as purchasing materials from a direct service competitor. The transition to MOLEK solves this conflict: it positions the company as a higher-level, neutral industrial entity. This authoritative positioning paves the way for entering the B2B market as a supplier of professional tools and films without generating commercial friction with potential clients who are also service competitors.

The Monoblock Structure The visual identity is constructed around the concept of the “Monoblock Structure.” Drawing inspiration from automotive engineering, where engine blocks are cast as single units for maximum durability, the bespoke typography and logomark are designed as a cohesive, unbreakable system. The logomark’s geometry is rigorously derived from the core tool of the trade: the wrapping film roll.

This is a real-world commission initiated in the first half of 2025. The brand identity has been successfully implemented across a wide range of physical touchpoints. Produced deliverables include: exterior blade signage, premium business cards, communication flags, posters, warranty certificates, wayfinding totems, branded stationery (notepads, document folders), and staff apparel (t-shirts). Furthermore, the proprietary product line is currently in the selection and R&D phase, with the first market prototypes estimated for release in 2026. To support this commercial roadmap and protect intellectual property, the trademark is currently undergoing the official registration process.

The redesign has successfully repositioned the company. MOLEK is no longer perceived as a service for covering cars, but as a destination for aesthetic transformation. The new identity provides a scalable, international-grade framework that justifies a premium price point and appeals directly to the high-end automotive market. The brand promise has shifted from “Protection” to “Uniqueness.”
