Background
Jacques Fath, the historic French fashion house celebrated for its heritage and craftsmanship, introduced a new luxury fragrance within its Fath’s Essentials collection: Encens Copal. The scent blends sacred Mayan and Aztec copal incense with sun-warmed Mediterranean Mastic resin—an aromatic story rooted in ritual, culture, and refined artistry.
PIXREADY was commissioned to create a suite of high-end still renderings supported by a short editorial-style product animation. The goal was to establish the perfume’s identity and emotional landscape visually—before bottles reached retailers—ensuring the launch carried a sense of depth, mysticism, and modern luxury.
Brief
Jacques Fath tasked PIXREADY with:
1. Presenting Encens Copal in premium, photorealistic detail, spotlighting the bottle’s design, materials, and craft quality.
2. Expressing the fragrance’s cultural origins through symbolic visuals rather than literal storytelling.
3. Producing assets suitable for digital channels, social media, e-commerce, and brand press kits.
4. Using still renders as the primary launch assets, with a supporting animation that enriches emotional resonance.
The challenge: to make a scent-driven concept visually understandable and desirable, while staying true to the brand’s world of heritage and elegance.
Strategy
To translate an invisible, scent-driven experience into a cohesive visual identity, we developed a strategic foundation rooted in the fragrance’s cultural origins and emotional character. Our goal was to craft imagery that felt both ritualistic and contemporary, allowing Encens Copal’s story to unfold through atmosphere, materiality, and refined detail. Our visual strategy drew from three core principles:
Authentic Natural Symbolism
Organic materials—resin, bark, raw mineral surfaces—were chosen as contextual elements to evoke the origins of copal and mastic. They create a tactile foundation that feels rooted in ceremony and craft.
Light as Atmosphere
Warm amber glows, soft shadows, and gentle volumetric lighting echo the sensory qualities of incense, ritual, and Mediterranean warmth. The lighting directs the viewer’s attention to glass clarity, liquid depth, and premium finishes.
Elegant, Minimal Motion
For the supporting animation, we embraced restraint: calm rotations, floating resin fragments, and subtle ambiance. The movement complements the still renders and reinforces the fragrance’s meditative, refined character.
Together, these elements form an immersive visual world that positions Encens Copal as a contemporary luxury object with deep cultural resonance.
Design Process
We built the visual environment around carefully arranged natural materials that support, frame, and elevate the bottle. Compositions were developed to feel editorial and sculptural, with the product always serving as the central focus.
Lighting was crafted to achieve a warm, intimate atmosphere—balancing soft gradients with crisp highlights to accentuate the bottle’s geometry. Materials for glass, liquid, metal, and resin were calibrated for realistic refraction, reflection, and texture to ensure a premium finish.
For the animation, we extended the same visual language into motion: slow reveals, floating elements, and gentle environmental shifts. The animation remains intentionally understated, reinforcing elegance rather than relying on overt effects.
Rendered in Blender and refined in Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop, the final deliverables maintain consistency across still and motion formats, ensuring a unified and luxurious brand presentation.
Results
The final visual suite significantly strengthened the launch of Encens Copal:
1. Hero stills became the foundation of the fragrance’s digital introduction, used across website, e-commerce listings, social media, and press materials.
2. The supporting animation added a sensory layer, increasing engagement and providing a more immersive product story for web & social formats.
3. The visuals enabled Jacques Fath to communicate the fragrance’s identity ahead of physical availability, helping position Encens Copal as a sophisticated, culturally rich, niche-luxury release.
4. The cohesive aesthetic—rooted in ritual, warmth, and natural materials—reinforced brand recognition and elevated the fragrance’s perception among niche perfume collectors and new audiences alike.
Together, these outcomes demonstrate how thoughtful visual storytelling can transform a fragrance launch—shaping perception long before audiences experience the scent itself. The project ultimately provided Jacques Fath with a distinctive, emotionally resonant visual identity that will continue to support the fragrance across future campaigns and markets.
