The Source Water partnered with Label Gurus Design Agency to develop the complete visual identity for its purified drinking water brand. The Source Water is a Kenyan mineral water brand produced to premium standards.

Client Brief

Based on the brief, our task was to design water labels for PET bottles (500ml–20L) and glass bottles targeting high-end clients such as golf clubs. We were also responsible for marketing materials including flyers, roll-up banners, teardrop flags, email signatures, and branded T-shirts. The key challenge was to ensure all design elements consistently reflected The Source Water’s brand identity without deviating from the established theme.

Key Brand Message

The Source Water is known for its restorative quality, making it a highly sought-after natural resource. It is sourced from one of Kenya’s most pristine locations and bottled using state-of-the-art technology in one of East Africa’s best facilities. Production follows rigorous global standards to deliver water that promotes wellness—“healthy in style.”

Design Approach

Since The Source Water is a new brand entering a competitive market, our design strategy focused on creativity and clarity to ensure strong shelf visibility.

Brand Logo Design

We began with the logo. Inspired by elegant script-style typography similar to iconic beverage brands, the design features a minimal script font paired with a water wave and droplet—capturing the theme with simplicity. Unlike many water brands that rely on abstract shapes, we focused on clean minimalism, as preferred by the client. This unique, eye-catching identity strengthened brand visibility.

PET Bottle Label Design

The label design embraced simplicity using just two colors—cyan and magenta—to create a reflex blue tone. Limiting the color palette helped optimize printing costs.

On PP white material → only 2 colors are used.

On shrink material → 3 colors are applied.

All elements are precisely aligned for a clean and premium presentation.

Glass Bottle Label

For the glass bottle, we retained the PET design concept but removed the background to suit PP clear material. Only two colors—spot blue and white—were used to achieve crystal clarity and elegance.

Results

The overall outcome was highly positive. The design stood out on shelves, was easily recognizable, and aligned perfectly with brand expectations. Impressed by our execution on the label designs, The Source Water trusted Label Gurus Design with additional design tasks including roll-up banners, flyers, and T-shirt illustrations.
