‘Bidai Berri (new journey in Basque language) crossing the mountains’ is a wine produced by Viña Zorzal Wines together with the Eslava wine cooperative, and this new journey is not only literal from Corella, where the Viña Zorzal winery is located, to Eslava, it is a journey that travels through landscapes, uniting two territories in a short but intense journey.
At Moruba, we have represented the distance between the two wineries with a partial view of an odometer in a unique and disruptive way, creating interest in that distance. What is the origin and destination? It is very poetic and cryptic, as well as having a great visual impact with very few elements.
The client’s philosophy is to generate design proposals that transcend trends and fashions, that are unique and timeless, that define the uniqueness of wine in a memorable way, generating curiosity and demonstrating that following your own path is the best way to go far.
At the studio, we always look for materials that help to understand the idea and contribute to the concept. In this case, the paper shown without printing on the label had to meet this requirement, and it does so with flying colours.
We selected a black paper with a matte finish and a rubbery feel, which reminded us of the feel of a dashboard and combined very well with the shine of the screen printing that simulates the odometer. During the printing phase, it is essential to have a printer who understands the project well and to establish a dialogue so that the final result is faithful to the design.
This design generates an essential conversation between the winery and the consumer.
