Under the glowing light of the Mid-Autumn full moon, Soko – Over The Moon II continues the poetic story that began a year ago, where design becomes a vessel for emotion, memory, and joy. Created by Bracom Agency, this second edition of Soko’s mooncake collection transforms a familiar cultural celebration into an enchanting sensory experience — one that captures the imagination as much as it honors tradition. If Over The Moon I in 2024 told the tale of moon rabbits pounding clouds into flour, harvesting starlight for fillings, and crafting mooncakes as an offering to the moon goddess, then Over The Moon II takes us one step further, into the moment when the adventure becomes a homecoming. The rabbits have returned from their cosmic journey, bringing back treasures of happiness, and under the full moon they host a grand celestial feast — a joyous night filled with laughter, music, and endless light.
At the heart of this year’s design lies a dazzling disco moon, a reinterpretation of the full moon itself. It reflects light from every angle, scattering thousands of tiny sparkles across the surrounding surface, as if the stars were dancing. Around it, porcelain rabbits rest gracefully on ascending steps, their postures gentle yet inviting, as though welcoming the viewer to join their celebration. When illuminated, the box transforms into a living object — glowing, shimmering, and alive — embodying the festive spirit of togetherness that defines the Mid-Autumn season. The design invites not only admiration but participation; opening the box feels like stepping onto the dance floor of the moon, where every reflection becomes a note of music.
The structure of Over The Moon II was envisioned as a corner of a palace in the sky, a luxurious architectural form rendered through delicate craftsmanship. Each arched window allows light to seep through, casting soft golden hues and creating the illusion of a lantern floating amidst the clouds. Around the central orb unfolds an illustrated panorama — rabbits leaping across constellations, gliding through misty skies, and dancing among celestial winds. The illustration is not a backdrop but an extension of the narrative, wrapping the design in motion and warmth. Every layer of the box, every surface texture, has been carefully orchestrated to create a multi-sensory journey — from the soft touch of the materials to the play of light that brings the story to life.
The color palette was chosen to evoke serenity and joy in equal measure. Gentle shades of sky blue recall the calm of moonlit nights, while touches of gold add warmth and celebration. The balance between cool and radiant tones mirrors the dual nature of the festival itself — peaceful yet vibrant, traditional yet alive with new energy. Under soft lighting, the hues shift like the phases of the moon, capturing the passage of time and emotion. Bracom approached color as atmosphere, designing not only what the eyes see but what the heart feels — a visual composition that glows quietly, inviting contemplation and delight.
More than a packaging design, Soko – Over The Moon II is a story that can be touched. It represents Bracom’s philosophy that design is not simply about aesthetics, but about storytelling — the art of translating feeling into form. Each element serves a purpose beyond beauty: the disco moon symbolizes celebration, the palace structure stands for reunion, and the rabbits embody the timeless innocence that connects generations. Together, they create a piece that transcends function to become an experience. When the viewer opens the box, light escapes softly, and for a brief moment, the boundary between imagination and reality dissolves. What remains is the simple, pure joy of being part of something magical.
Through this project, Bracom Agency sought to express not only craftsmanship but emotion — to remind people that design can still touch the heart the way stories once did under the moonlight. The Mid-Autumn Festival has always been a symbol of connection, of families coming together, and Bracom reimagines that feeling through contemporary visual storytelling. It is a modern fairy tale told through texture, light, and form — one that celebrates reunion not as nostalgia, but as renewal.
Ultimately, Over The Moon II stands as an ode to joy, to craftsmanship, and to the enduring beauty of human imagination. It is a continuation of Soko’s creative vision and a reflection of Bracom’s enduring belief that design, when born from sincerity, can transcend boundaries and become timeless. As the disco moon glows and the rabbits dance in their palace of light, we are reminded that sometimes the simplest emotions — warmth, wonder, and happiness — are what make design truly unforgettable. Under that same silver moon that inspired generations before us, Bracom invites you to smile, to dream, and to feel once more what it means to be “over the moon.”
