Vapor Barato, a brand that represents the Self
The band Vapor Barato has been a fixture in the sertão of Pernambuco for nearly nine years, cultivating a unique space for alternative music. Their mission is to provide a distinct musical appreciation in Petrolândia, challenging the local mainstream. They presented us with the challenge of visually expressing their profound love for music and the connection to the inner strength inherent in every individual. Our creative journey involved deep research into the philosophy of the “self,” leading to a symbol born from the concept of meditation. This symbol illustrates a transcendent journey from the inner being, portraying an intimate and profound relationship between the individual and their spirit. The deliberate, sketch-like lines embody a sense of rebellion and the raw freedom of self-expression.
This core concept was seamlessly extended to the complete visual identity for their new album, “Fruto do Espírito” (“Fruit of the Spirit”). Aligning with the album’s title and the brand’s established atmosphere, we stylized the graphics to be more fluid and organic, visualizing the “fruit of the spirit” as a natural and transcendental outcome. The album cover’s central element is a persona, representing an individual in a continuous state of evolution and emphasizing that this spiritual fruit cannot exist without the core being. The final result is a deeply conceptual and satisfying identity that accurately translates the band’s musical ethos and powerfully reinforces their purpose of spreading love through their art.
