House of Arras Marks 30 Years of Mastery with a Landmark Release

The E.J. Carr Late Disgorged 2006 30th Anniversary Release, limited to 1,566 bottles, was given a special unveiling by House of Arras at the Sydney Opera House.This benchmark release celebrates three decades of Tasmanian sparkling wine
and the vision of Chief Winemaker Ed Carr.

Designed by Clay Andrews, the packaging set out to capture the scale of this moment in time with luxurious restraint. A striking, singular palette of Tasmanian deep ocean greens anchors the design and evokes the island’s maritime heart.

A flowing timeline arcs across the outer pack, carrying the story of Arras from its beginnings through to this 2006 vintage and beyond. Opening the box reveals the bottle and inner packaging, where the oceanic palette continues across metallised substrates with heavy embossing for impact and tactility. Beyond this, a heavyweight card carries individual product details and the story of the release, its typography shaped into an hourglass to reflect both the 30-year journey of House of Arras and the exceptional time in tirage that has become its hallmark.

Layered finishes – embossing, varnishes, and subtle foils – add richness without noise. The result is quiet yet luxurious, with details that unfold as the pack is handled, mirroring the reveal of the sparkling wine itself.

In 2024, Ed Carr was named Sparkling Winemaker of the Year at the International Wine Challenge – the first Australian, and only the second winemaker outside Champagne, to receive the honour. This 30th Anniversary release is a tribute to wild refinement, raw beauty, and decades of Ed Carr’s craftsmanship.
