Designing a perfume bottle can be one of the most exciting tasks a designer can take on. For this product, we needed to create luxury packaging that was both durable and stable so it could be shipped in master cartons to other countries. Therefore, the project was divided into two main parts: structural design and graphic design.
For the structural packaging, we used a combination of a cover and a tray. By creating 1 cm thick tray walls and placing a sponge molded to the shape of the bottle, we enhanced the strength of the box.
Perfume scents are rooted in nature especially Top Silver, the new product of an established company in this industry. The fragrances intended for this series were inspired entirely by forests and natural elements, comprising 20 men’s and 20 women’s products.
To visually express the essence of the scents, I applied spot gloss UV over a clear base, incorporating a tree bark design. I used black for the men’s products and white for the women’s. The use of velvet-touch lamination on all the boxes provided a sense of calm and tactile comfort, making it a premium service.
For the men’s boxes, I used raised embossed silver foiling and silver ink, while for the women’s, I applied raised embossed gold foiling and gold ink. In both types, the use of embossed elements in specific areas helped elevate the packaging into the luxury cosmetics and personal care category.
