John Paul Balan Builds a Scalable Brand System for BITW’s Tabletop Future

BITW Visual Identity

BITW is a miniature painting and modeling studio rooted in passion, precision, and personal storytelling. What began as a hobby has evolved into a creative force in the tabletop and wargaming community serving hobbyists, collectors, and players who seek more than just finished miniatures. BITW provides top-tier painting, custom 3D modeling, and long-term development of original tabletop games and digital assets.

At the heart of the brand is an obsession with detail and storytelling. Each piece is crafted not only to impress visually but to reflect the imagination of the client. BITW positions itself not as a service provider, but as a creative partner in bringing worlds, armies, and personal visions to life one miniature at a time.

Future-focused, BITW is building toward a digital-first model: launching original tabletop titles, selling digital files, and creating a sustainable business model built around IP, community, and artistry. The long-term mission is clear: to transition from one-on-one client work to scalable game universes that empower and inspire fellow hobbyists worldwide.

The visual identity of BITW is grounded in symbolism and subtle story  telling. Inspired by the moth a creature often associated with transformation, curiosity, and light—the brand embraces its role as a quiet but powerful force within the hobby community. The moth becomes both a metaphor and a marker: a symbol of introspection, quiet passion, and the personal journeys that miniature painting often represents.

The logotype features a refined, modern serif typeface that balances discipline with warmth. It is paired with a minimal moth icon, designed with clean lines and soft symmetry evoking both delicacy and strength. The color palette draws from earthy textures, matte blacks, and neutral stone tones, reflecting the tactile and immersive nature of the hobby itself.

This design system is intentionally restrained, allowing the work intricate paint jobs, custom models, and game designs to take center stage. The logo is timeless and adaptable, functioning just as seamlessly on a resin packaging label as it does on a digital game interface or Instagram post.

The entire identity is built to scale. As BITW transitions from handcrafted services to digital product lines and game development, the visual system offers consistency, flexibility, and longevity anchoring the brand through every phase of growth.
