Buckwild Introduces a Vibrant and Adaptive Look for Grand Est Basketball

Rebranding Ligue Régionale Grand Est Basketball

The new visual identity for the Grand Est Regional Basketball League represents a complete departure from the previous one. The new look is modern, simple and highly legible, based on highly comprehensible codes that appeal to a wide audience.
It has been designed as a real graphic playground that can be completely adapted to the league’s many variations and formats.
The graphic symbol is based on a pictogram of a basketball, with three central lines isolated and then combined into a single symbol.
These three lines represent the three territories of the Grand Est region in France: Alsace, Lorraine and Champagne-Ardenne.
This simple symbol makes the league instantly recognisable and will be the common thread running through the entire visual identity.
In terms of values, these grouped lines will symbolise fusion, reunion and consultation. It’s a unifying pictogram that represents team spirit.
The symbol is accompanied by a unique typeface (Aeonik), with a modern, easy-to-read sans-serif design.
It will be available in different weights to help organise the information.
The colour scheme is modern, using the dominant colours of the flags of the 3 territories, with red and yellow as the main hues. These 2 colours are mixed together to create a bright orange, which once again refers to the basketball. A very dark grey provides a break and is based on the colour of the lines of the ball. Finally, a beige adds a touch of softness and connection.
Coming back to the symbol, it can be used as a basis for designing other pictograms to illustrate the different categories in the league.
In the end, it’s a completely modular project that can be adapted to all media and meet all different needs. What’s more, by having a simple graphic base, this identity can be further developed in the future.
