Regenerate directly engages with the issue of responsible consumption and production by encouraging players to reflect on the everyday choices and behaviors that contribute to either regenerative or degenerative outcomes. Through scenario based storytelling and decision making, the game introduces real life examples of consumption habits such as food waste, energy use, and resource management and challenges players to consider their long-term environmental impact.
Rather than simply informing players, the game uses subconscious learning and emotional engagement to shift mindsets. By presenting consequences of degenerative habits and rewarding regenerative actions within the gameplay, players begin to internalize principles of sustainability and circular design without feeling lectured. The multigenerational format further encourages intergenerational dialogue, helping bridge knowledge gaps and promoting collective awareness.
Ultimately, Regenerate transforms abstract sustainability concepts into relatable, actionable decisions fostering a deeper understanding of how mindful consumption and restorative practices can be integrated into daily life.
As an early career designer, Regenerate marks my first step into the realm of socially driven design. While I bring a strong foundation in visual communication, storytelling, and user-centered design, this project challenged me to apply those skills toward a broader societal and ecological purpose. Navigating themes like responsible consumption, regenerative practices, and intergenerational learning, I approached the project with curiosity, empathy, and a deep commitment to meaningful impact. Regenerate demonstrates my ability to translate complex global issues into accessible, human centered experiences showcasing the potential of early-career creatives to contribute thoughtfully to critical societal challenges.
