Bisarro Studio Reinvents Wine Labeling for Casa dos Migueis with Expressive Color Codes

Colour as Identity: Bisarro Studio for Casa dos Migueis

For Casa dos Migueis, Bisarro Studio designed a label that stands out not by following Douro conventions, but by confidently breaking away from them. The design embraces bold choices to redefine what a wine label can be. Instead of traditional visuals or ornate detailing, it uses strong colour blocks and bold typography to create immediate, unmistakable impact.

Coral, turquoise, orange, and blue define the range, ensuring each bottle carries a unique and memorable identity, standing apart in both physical and digital spaces. At the heart of the label is the brand’s existing CM logo oversized, tightly cropped, and placed front and centre transforming a familiar symbol into a powerful visual statement.

The materials are kept intentionally simple: matte paper for a clean, tactile feel, complemented by metallic stamping as a refined finishing touch. The stamping catches the light and adds a sleek, modern edge to the design without overwhelming it.

The focus is on clarity, contrast, and bold presence. It’s a youthful take on an established visual language not nostalgic or sentimental, but fresh, energetic, and direct.

The label was designed to be seen, shared, and remembered. It reflects a new way of communicating wine: less about tradition, more about personality and intent.

Casa dos Migueis isn’t just selling wine  it’s presenting a perspective. This is design as expression: thoughtful, striking, and aligned with a brand that values creativity, originality, and thinking far beyond the conventional boundaries of the Douro wine scene.
