” St Peter’s is a small brewery based in former agricultural buildings adjacent to St Peter’s Hall in Suffolk. They brew award-winning traditional beers, which are distributed in cask and bottles to pubs, wholesalers, independents and supermarkets throughout the UK and a large majority exported around the world.We were briefed to create the branding and packaging design for their new Crafted range – a unique selection of craft ales and cider to be showcased in a smaller 330ml version of their iconic oval bottle.The design needed to hold its own in the popular craft ale sector, and emphasise the experience and passion of their brewery in creating these niche products. The label was designed using a hand-printed letterpress style font to give a hand-crafted feel, complemented by an offset roundel featuring the iconic St Peter’s raven. Each label shows an illustration to depict the key ingredient along with the familiar starburst from the core range labels.The first two products in the range Crafted Cider and Crafted Black IPA use colours that identify with the characteristics of the product – the Cider being pale straw in colour and a fresh uplifted apple aroma, the Black IPA being heavily hopped with hints of rich fruits and an aroma of dark chocolate. Further additions to the range are in development.The brewery launched their first batch of Crafted Cider in March 2016 and completely sold out. The Crafted Black IPA has been recognised by the industry, winning awards in The International Beer Challenge and Global Beer Masters, plus a Bronze award in Design & Packaging category of The International Beer Challenge awards.The design won SILVER for Design: Packaging in the Roses Creative Awards 2017. ”
