Ēsse is an architecture and interior design studio founded by Stefani Both in Garopaba, Santa Catarina. The name derives from “essence,” encapsulating our commitment to authenticity and the beauty of simplicity. Each project we create is more than just a space; it’s a reflection of the individuality of those who inhabit it. Our work is focused on crafting environments that inspire, connect, and embrace, always with sensitivity and purpose. For us, architecture is a journey of translating who you are into meaningful spaces.
Rooted in the philosophy of wabi-sabi, we believe in finding beauty in imperfection, transience, and incompleteness. This worldview teaches us to embrace the impermanent and celebrate the unique details that make each project extraordinary. In architecture, this translates into timeless spaces that respect the passage of time, connect with nature, and reflect the essence of those who live within them. By focusing on the simple and the imperfect, we create environments that foster genuine connection and authenticity, delivering spaces that speak to the soul of their inhabitants.
The visual identity of Ēsse was meticulously designed to embody our core philosophy of essence and imperfection. We chose earthy tones to evoke warmth, authenticity, and a natural connection to the environment. For the wordmark, we utilized reversed spacing, creating a deliberately “imperfect” element that underscores our belief in embracing uniqueness and asymmetry. This visual language is minimal yet purposeful, mirroring the harmony, authenticity, and depth that define every project we undertake. Our identity is a visual reflection of our commitment to simplicity and the profound power of essence.
