2024 was a tough year for the hospitality scene around the world. Much like the last few years, bars and restaurants had to work tirelessly to stay afloat. To say thank you, Merry Christmas, and bon chance to the local hospitality community in Manchester, Grey Goose Vodka enlisted the services of Science + Industry—a hidden cocktail den in the heart of the Northern Quarter—to produce a special pre-batched cocktail using Grey Goose Vodka that would be sent out as gifts to local hospitality venues.
Science + Industry is well known for its innovation and commitment to high standards. The bar features a dedicated drinks laboratory where unique cocktails are created using scientific techniques and a focus on flavour experimentation—making it the perfect place to develop a Christmas tipple worthy of the hard workers in Manchester’s illustrious bar and restaurant community.
Science + Industry enlisted the services of Happy Go Lucky to package and name the cocktail. Having worked together since 2017, we felt we knew the core elements needed to ensure continuity as a Science + Industry project. After tasting the deliciously decadent Christmas-inspired Nocino De Modena drink—with its deep walnut flavour, warming ginger spice, and light orange blossom touch provided by Ginger of the Indies—Grey Goose Vodka’s clean profile and peppery notes brought everything together. We proposed “Yuletide Blossom” as the name.
Using references from past collaborations and drawing inspiration from the ingredients, we created a deco-inspired label and accompanying packaging that held true to the playful ideals of Happy Go Lucky.
